  • Newsletter content: We receive and process newsletters sent to our designated email address. This content is used solely for extraction and analysis.
  • Usage data: Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for performance monitoring. No tracking cookies or third-party analytics.
  • No account data: subtl does not require user registration. We do not collect names, emails, or payment information.

How We Use Data

  • Newsletter content is processed by AI to extract facts, trends, tools, and author opinions.
  • Extracted data is displayed on our public dashboard for informational purposes.
  • We attribute all content to its original source and link back to original newsletters.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties.

Copyright & Fair Use

subtl operates under fair use principles. We extract factual data points and provide commentary and analysis, always attributing the original source. We do not reproduce full articles or substantial portions of copyrighted content. If you are a newsletter author and have concerns, please contact us.

Data Retention

Extracted newsletter data is retained indefinitely for historical analysis. Original email content is stored securely and not publicly accessible. Users can request removal of specific content by contacting us.

US Data Law Compliance

  • CCPA (California): We do not sell personal information. As we don't collect PII, CCPA opt-out rights are not applicable.
  • CAN-SPAM: subtl does not send marketing emails. Our newsletter processing is inbound only.
  • COPPA: subtl is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

GDPR (International Users)

Although subtl is US-based, we respect GDPR principles. Newsletter content we process is authored by publishers who have made their content publicly distributable via email. We do not process personal data of EU residents beyond what is publicly shared in newsletter content.
